ululation.com is interested in spotlighting creative talent by providing a forum for writers and artists with little hope of publication in traditional media, and through essays concerning trends and individuals whose appeal might be lost on a mass audience. We also strive to provide an alternative to the ephemeral social attitudes of today's media through the support of new fiction and poetry, as well as essays concerning cultural and social issues given short shrift elsewhere.

We are not above, however, from time to time, holding what we see as asinine, mass-market trends to the critical flame, hopefully with a little humor. Nor do we hold ourselves above scrutiny-we will defend ourselves and laugh at ourselves as appropriate.

Ours is not to be critical of dominant cultural strains for the sake of being critical. Ours is to critique aspects of art and society that we find to be lacking, and to praise, and hopefully draw attention to, those that we find extraordinary.
